Mere Golf and Country Club - 25^th September 2008

The Manchester City v Manchester United Golf Day gives you the opportunity to entertain your customers or friends in the company of some of the most famous names that have played for or managed Manchester's two great clubs. Twenty eight teams representing the two clubs will compete against each other for the trophy which will be presented to the winning club and be kept in the trophy cabinet at either Old Trafford or the City of Manchester stadium. Not only that, following the golf you can invite six more clients or friends to have dinner and take part in a Utd v City Sports Quiz with after dinner entertainment by a comedian.

The Format
Fourteen teams representing each club will play a team stableford competition from a shotgun start, the best two scores from four will count and there will be a maximum handicap of 24 allowed. The teams will be nominated by the captains and decide which teams are pitted against each other. The team with the best score wins 1 point for either United or City and the club with the most points will win the trophy for a year.

The Quiz
Following a three course dinner, a Sports Quiz related to United and City will be held and the table with the best score will win a team prize. If there is a tie, the team captains will play in a sudden death play off.

The Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for the following:

1. The winning team
2. The best overall golf team
3. The best overall quiz team
4. Nearest to the pin
5. The longest drive

There are two packages available.

The Golfers Package includes:

1. Soup and sandwich lunch for golfers
2. Team of 4 including 1 player or manager
3. Golf balls (1 dozen per team)
4. 10 United/City golf shirts - one for each guest
5. A table of 9 plus one celebrity, including a 3 course dinner with 1/2 bottle wine per person
6. Sports quiz
7. Comedian (after dinner)
8. Team photographs

Cost per team: £1,750+VAT (payable on booking)

The Dinner Only Package includes:

1. 10 United/City golf shirts - 1 for each guest
2. A table of 9 plus one celebrity, including a 3 course dinner with 1/2 bottle wine per person
3. Sports quiz
4. Comedian (after dinner)

Cost per table: £1,000+VAT (payable on booking)

The Charities
The proceeds of the day will be split equally between three chosen Manchester United and Manchester City charities.
