Sir Michael Parkinson's Charity Golf Day

5th September 2010 to be held at Mere Golf and Country Club

Sir Michael Parkinson's Charity Golf Day
Sir Michael Parkinson's Charity Golf Day

Michael Parkinson was for over 30 years the undoubted king of the chat show. With his inimitable relaxed style he interviewed the leading celebrities in the world, not only from the UK but also leading figures from the USA.

Michael's success was not limited just to British television; he was a huge success in Australia where his show ran for many years. In fact he has just completed a sell out tour of Australia with his one-man show.

On retiring Michael pledged to put something back into society and apart from being a patron of a number of charities this is his first dedicated event, which hopefully will be a major success and reward Michael's chosen charities with the funds they so desperately need.

The Event

The event will take place at Mere Golf and Country Club in Cheshire on Sunday 5th September 2010; the event will be a celebrity/am golf tournament involving 32 celebrities and 32 corporate teams.

The golf will be a team stableford competition, the best 2 scores from 4 to count, and prizes will be given to the 3 leading teams, the best individual celebrity, and there will also be prizes for nearest the pin and longest drive on various holes.

The golf will be followed by a dinner, prize giving and cabaret to which players can invite their wives/partners. We are hoping that Michael will be able to secure some of his former guests to take part in the cabaret.
